Public transport

Public transportation is generally safe and reliable in Munich.

Use this browser-based journey planner to check the public transport connections. Or even better: download the MVV App to plan your trip and purchase tickets. It is available from the Google Play Store, the Apple App Store, or the Windows Phone Store

Arriving by airplane:

Munich's airport lies outside of the city and is connected via the so-called "S-Bahn". Lines S1 and S8 travel every 10 min from the airport terminal to the city center. Depending on where your hotel is located, you will want to get off either at the main station ("Hauptbahnhof") or at the city centre ("Marienplatz"). You can buy the tickets either online or at a ticket machine at the airport station. Refer to this website for more info on public transport from/to the airport.

Arriving by train:

If you arrive by train, you will likely get off at the main station, which is essentially in Munich's city center. Navigate from there depending on the location of your hotel. Use this journey planner to check the public transport connections.

Arriving by car:

You will probably use your navigation device or phone. Good luck finding a parking.

Arriving by horse:

Sounds like fun. Share pics with us at the workshop dinner.
